Priyadarshan’s film on Chandrashekhar Azad to roll in 2002:

Way back, Ripples had announced its plans to make a film on the life of Chandrashekhar Azad, to be directed by Priyadarshan and starring Abhishek Bachchan in the title role. But one didnt hear of the project after the initial announcement. We enquired with Raajesh Bhatia, one of the partners of Ripples, whether the project was still on. Definitely! But it takes time when you decide to make a period film. To recreate a bygone era is no joke. We have also tied up with a major Hollywood studio for the making of the film, he states. Bhatia adds that the film will go on the floors in March 2002. Eighty per cent of the star cast will be from Hollywood, while the rest will be from India. The film will be made in English initially and dubbed in Hindi subsequently. There will be two writers for the film one from India and the other from Hollywood. The film will be released on the international circuit with more than 4,000 prints, like it happens with an English film.
