Film actress Pooja Batra and her brother Chetan were arrested by the D.N Nagar police yesterday after they assaulted a local postman. The postman Santosh Marathe arrived at Pooja's residence at MHADA Colony in Oshiwara to deliver a registered mail and urged Chetan to ask Pooja to come and sign the appropriate document. Chetan was enraged by this and started abusing the postman. Pooja later joined him and the verbal assault turned into a physical one. The brother-sister duo caught hold of the postman and began slamming his head on the wall. Marathe rushed to the DN Nagar police station and lodged a complaint against them. He was taken to the Cooper hospital where he received six stitches before being discharged. Pooja and Cetan were arrested under the Sections 332, 353 and 114 of the Indian Penal Code for assaulting a government servant and obstructing him from performing his duties. Marathe has alleged that the police were reluctant to lodge a complaint against the duo and the police gave them VIP treatment. At the time of publishing this article, Pooja had been released on a bail amount of Rs. 950. She refused to comment on the incident and added that the police were investigating the matter.
