Nikhil Advani Breaks His Silence

The soft-spoken, media-shy director of KAL HO NAA HO, Nikhil Advani, is in the news. Some time back, the media had gone overboard with juicy stories about Karan Johar and Nikhil going separate ways. Nikhil was under a scanner yet again when Boney Kapoor decided to produce the film, taking over from Jhamu Sughand [initially, Jhamu was supposed to produce the film]. That hit headlines once again! Nikhil is back in the glaring hot spotlight! This time for dual reasons. According to rumour mills, Nikhil’s film has undergone a change again, with Sunil Manchanda [TERE NAAM, DIL NE JISE APNA KAHAA, KYUNKI] now stepping in as producer. And the second ‘development’ is that Salman has asked Nikhil to re-work on the script, since the actor is not too happy with the final draft. I don’t like to talk to the media. I am not into confirmations or denials, Nikhil clarifies at the very outset, That explains why you find one new story originating every two months. It doesn’t really bother me what anyone has to say about my project so long as those associated with the film know what the truth is. And the truth is? One, Boney Kapoor is producing my new film. There’s no change on that front whatsoever. And two, Salman hasn’t asked me to re-work on the script. To set the record straight, I haven’t narrated the final script to anyone yet, so there’s no question of a revision at this stage, Nikhil states. He continues in the same breath, I wasn’t happy with certain portions of the script and have decided to revise them myself. There has been no interference from anyone, trust me. Nikhil is tightlipped vis-?is the eventual cast of the film. I am still working on it. Wait for some time, he smiles.
