After establishing itself in the non-film repertoire, Times Music ventured into Hindi film music domain with MAKDEE, directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, who also composes the music of the film. The music release function of the film was indeed a different affair inkeeping with its theme. A children's film, there were no performances by models/dancers/singers on stage before the formal music release function, but by the two child artistes of the film Shweta and Alaap along with a bunch of children, who danced to the tune of two songs from the film. Subsequently, Gulzar released the music of the film, amidst a thunderous applause from the gathering. MAKDEE stars accomplished performers Shabana Azmi and Makrand Deshpande in stellar roles, besides a host of talented names.
