The grapevine is abuzz that the director of the super-successful MURDER, Anurag Basu, will direct John Abraham once again [Basu had directed John in SAAYA in the past]. We are still in negotiation stages, Basu informs me. The film, not titled yet, will be produced by the Shah brothers of Time [THE HERO, KISMAT]. A solo hero project, the film is expected to roll next month. Another project that Basu has agreed to direct will be produced by Mukesh Bhatt. In fact, after SAAYA, MURDER and TUMSA NAHIN DEKHA [Emraan Hashmi, Dia Mirza], Basu seems to have made a strong foothold in the Bhatt camp and has emerged the blue-eyed boy of the Bhatts. While TUMSA NAHIN DEKHA is on the verge of completion and should be released in September, the new project will roll in December.
