G.S. Entertainment P. Ltd. has announced the setting up of their office in Dubai and has announced the inception of the Middle East Indian Film Awards [M.E.I.F.A.], to be held in December this year. Dubai will witness not only the best Indian film awards function ever held in the Middle East, but also a unique one in many respects, states Bunty Walia of G.S., The show will be the first-ever award event where people of the Middle East will get to choose the winners. We have met several leading industrialists and businessmen in the Middle East and the idea of M.E.I.F.A. has evoked a tremendous response from one and all. The voting process will be supervised, tabulated and audited by one of the leading international accounting firms based in Dubai. While the voting will take place in the Middle East, the event will be covered and telecast to a global audience. Also, for the first time, a prominent jury from within the Middle East will be appointed to decide on the nominees for the 17 popular award categories. The people of Middle East will then vote accordingly. Bunty adds that M.E.I.F.A. will be an annual event. Everyone knows that Dubai is the hottest spot this side of the globe. Not only because of the commercial success that events enjoy there, but also because of the superb infrastructure and governmental support that ensures a hassle-free environment to work in, he adds.
