Lord Puttnam Visits Whistling Woods

Lord Puttnam, the Chancellor of the University of Sunderland, paid a visit to Mukta Arts’ upcoming state-of-the-art film and television institute Whistling Woods International at Film City, Mumbai. Lord Puttnam is one of the patrons of W.W.I. along with Lord Bhiku Parekh, Kanwal Rekhi and Parminder Vir. Present on the occasion were Subhash Ghai, Ravi Gupta [CEO, Mukta Arts], Lady Puttnam and other dignitaries. Lord Puttnam was convinced that wherever the industry has a hub, not just adequate, but ambitious training programmes should be developed in support of young artistes and technicians and that W.W.I. is an exciting and timely initiative for Indian cinema. After the visit to W.W.I., the group proceeded to The Club, where they were joined by Manmohan Shetty, Satish Kaushik and Om Puri. Lord Puttnam has produced films such as MIDNIGHT EXPRESS, CHARIOTS OF FIRE [which won the Academy Award for Best Picture], LOCAL HERO, THE KILLING FIELDS, THE MISSION and MEMPHIS BELLE.
