Krrish 3 inks merchandising deal with Dream Theatre

The upcoming Hrithik Roshan superhero sci-fi film Krrish 3 that portrays India’s first superhero is one of the most anticipated sequels in Bollywood. The film which is currently still under production, we hear, has inked a two year licensing and merchandising deal with a Mumbai based brand licensing firm, Dream Theatre.

The deal which was realized with assistance from the talent management and entertainment firm Carving Dreams will include five movie releases in the same window – two animated Krrish movies titled Kid Krrish which will be aired on kids’ television channel Cartoon Network before the cinematic release of the actual movie, and two more animated Kid Krrish movies will be aired also on the same channel after Krrish 3 is released in theatres.

While the film’s producers say Krrish 3 is likely to be the most marketed film of the year, and is expected to generate sales of close to US$ 3 million from merchandise, digital activation including online games and animation-related licensing alone.

With this new deal, Dream Theatre which also manages licensing rights for global brands like Angry Birds, DreamWorks Animation, Power Rangers, Noddy, Discovery Kids and Power Rangers in India adds yet another feather to their hat.
