I have done a very good job as a debutant-Mona Chopra

Mona Chopra is a true Bindaas Babe, debuting in Time Pass; the posters already speak volumes about her grit and determination to make it in Bollywood. Unapologetically sexy, candid and confident, Mona speaks about her first film Time Pass, exclusively to IndiaFM.

Tell us about your experience working for your first film?
The experience was quite memorable and I have done a very good job as a debutant and I feel that after watching the film all the viewers out there will feel the same about me.

What is the kind of character that you portray?
I play this sexy and na? girl, she is so oblivious to the guy's world. She is so innocent that when the guy, played by Arjun Punj, makes moves on her, she is not able to understand and comprehend them. Her mentality is that of a little child but then if you look at her external appearance, its quite envious and she has got this awesome body line so that makes her a very desirable girl.

What excited you the most about the film when you first heard the script?
For me playing a sexy and na? girl was next to impossible. But it was this character that made my work so intriguing and thought provoking. I feel that when you are na?, you are not sexy and when you look sexy you cannot be na?. But having done this I have begun to realise that there are innumerable ways of being both sexy and na?, even if you are sexy in your appearance you need not be a chalu girl. So that's what I got to know from this character.

How was the experience working with your co-star Arjun Punj?
Working with Arjun was good; except for a few scenes here and there that he was a little uncomfortable with.

This is your debut film and going by the promos and posters it looks very bold, were you ever skeptical about its release?
I am happy that my film is releasing in a couple of days, had the promos not been aired I would have felt that all my efforts have gone down the drain. Because I have given my best, my 100% to the film and I expect something out of it. And today when I see the promos on air I feel that viewers would love to watch this film and once they come out of theatres I am sure that they would have lovely things to say about me because I have done my job pretty well and I have no regrets having done this film.

A lot of actresses are debuting in bold films; do you think this is the best gateway to Bollywood?
I feel that's it not about the bold scenes that I have signed Time Pass, actually there are not many bold scenes in this film, there is only one sensuous number and one love making scene. I feel that it's my histrionics that will fetch me work and it's not my bust line or my waistline that will fetch me work, that's for sure. I am sure that big filmmakers out there will call me someday having seen my work and not the posters and a little bit of skin show here and there.

Tell us something about the music of the film?
The music is peppy and sensuous. There is this love song, which is so sensuous that it makes you want to fall in love all over again, its so soothing. Then there is an item number which has been picturised in a bar and that's a very peppy dance number.

How was your equation with the director, any hassles since this is your first film?
It was a good experience and I enjoyed working with him. I am sure that he is happy with my performance, I am sure the entire unit is happy with my performance.
