H.M.V. has acquired the audio rights of producer Sanjiv Karambelkar's LAL SALAAM, starring Nandita Das, Sharad Kapoor and Sayaji Shinde, for a fabulous 1 plus. This, despite the fact that none of the songs of the film have been recorded yet. Now, you will ask, what made H.M.V. grab the rights of this set-up that has not been produced by a big name? Well, the film marks the coming together of music director Hridaynath Mangeshkar and lyricist Gulzar, which prompted H.M.V. to clinch the deal. But what got them going was Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar's nod to render all the songs in the film. Interesting, isn't it?
