Ironically Govinda's career has suddenly started looking up, though his distribution office has closed down and his JEETO CHAPPAR PHAAD KE is due to be called off soon. The hottest news in the trade is that he has been signed by Subhash Ghai and Rajkumar Santoshi for their films. The first film is reportedly to be directed by David Dhawan, while the film with Rajkumar Santoshi is to be produced by Ramoji Rao Studios. Both Ghai and Santoshi were not available for comment, but his spokesperson, Shashi Prabhu, admitted that talks were indeed on, refusing to comment any further on the news. On the other hand, his nephew Dumpy, brother Kirti Kumar's son, is also set to direct a film, which will star him in a very different role. Dumpy had assisted his father, Kirti Kumar, during the making of PYAAR DIWANA HOTA HAI and according to Kirti, Govinda was quite impressed with Dumpy's suggestions and style of working during the making of the film. "He asked him to get into direction and the two have already started working on the project," Kirti informs. The film is scheduled to be launched in October this year. Incidentally, Dumpy is just 17 years old (he'll turn 17 this September) and will be the youngest director in the industry. Coming back to Kirti Kumar, he has started a professional acting academy at his D.N. Nagar residence, where he gives personalised training to potential actors and actresses.
