Govinda out to kill in Shikari:

After Anil Kapoor (BENAAM BADSHAH), Shah Rukh Khan (BAAZIGAR, DARR, ANJAAM), Sanjay Dutt (KHAL-NAYAK), Sunny Deol (JEET) and Sunil Shetty (DHADKAN), yet another actor will be seen in an anti-hero role Govinda. Film: SHIKARI. Kavita Pictures’ SHIKARI, produced by Kishan G. Kishnani and directed by N. Chandra, is a suspense-thriller. The film stars Govinda in a negative role, for the first time in his career. “Simply put, it’s a character that haunts you,” N. Chandra tells you. Planned and executed on a large canvas, the film is about injustice, passion and hatred. It has Govinda doing things that would scare the daylights of you and give you the cold jitters. He plays a mean and terrorising character, which is out to kill and kill ruthlessly. Co-starring Karisma Kapoor, Tabu, Nirmal Pandey, Kiran Kumar, Sushma Seth and Johny Lever, the story of the film begins in South Africa and subsequently shifts to India. The film is an acid test for Govinda mainly, since the role he has enacted in the film is in sharp contrast to his happy-go-lucky image he has come to acquire after a string of hits with David Dhawan. SHIKARI also brings Govinda and Karisma Kapoor together once again, after a string of super successful films, notable among them being RAJA BABU, COOLIE NO. 1, HERO NO. 1, SAAJAN CHALE SASURAL and HASEENA MAAN JAAYEGI. The film has music by Adesh Shrivastav and lyrics by Sameer. It is scheduled for release on October 6, 2000.
