After all the hiccups in it's making, it seems like Akbar Khan's Taj Mahal is finally on the right track. The final shooting schedule was recently held at a location 40 km from Jaipur. The scene picturized was a battle sequence between Aurangzeb and his brother Dara Shikoh as the battle of Samugar fought in the 16th century. Amongst 200 soldiers, elephants and horses, the battle sequence was directed by popular action director Shyam Kaushal. The period film being made on a magnanimous scale and grand budget stars newcomer Sonya Jehan and Zulfikar Syed as the main romantic lead of Mumtaz Mahal and Shahjahan. The film also stars Manisha Koirala, Kim Sharma, Pooja Batra, Arbaaz Khan, Arbaaz Ali Khan and Kabir Bedi. The film was launched way back in February 2002 and was proposed to be completed by May 2003 but was consistently delayed due to several production problems.
