Jaipur is all set to have a hi-tech Film City. Actor Dharmendra, also an MP from Bikaner [Rajasthan], is playing a vital role in bridging the gap between the Government of Rajasthan and the film fraternity.
At a get-together organized in Mumbai on Saturday, July 23, the Minister of Urban & Housing Development, Government of Rajasthan, Pratap Singh Singhavi, assured the elite gathering of producers and directors that the Jaipur Development Authority would extend full support to film producers and directors.
Noted film-makers like Yash Chopra, Mukesh Bhatt, Ashuthosh Gowariker, Kamal Kumar Barjatya, Suneel Darshan, Rajkumar Kohli, Pappu Verma and Vidhu Vinod Chopra addressed the gathering and gave their valued suggestions for making Jaipur Film City a dream venue.
The Project Commissioner of Jaipur Development Authority, Dr. Lalit K. Panwar, revealed that the Jaipur Film City would be located in an area of over 1000 acres on the Jaipur-Agra highway, near village Sumel.
Panwar also gave a fast-track action plan:-
- An officer would be allotted to each producer/director, who comes to Jaipur for shooting.
- Government would announce an attractive package in three months.
- Jaipur Film City would be developed in two years’ time-frame.
