Vashu Bhagnani has tasted success after a really long break. The success of F.A.L.T.U. is special because it stars his laadla beta Jackky in central role. So what is Vashu Bhagnani planning next? Will film-making gain precedence over his flourishing realty business? Well, the prolific producer is planning to make sequels of three of his films - BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN [which starred Amitabh Bachchan, Govinda], HERO NO. 1 [Govinda] and of course, F.A.L.T.U.
"Almost everyone is making sequels. It's a healthy trend that has caught the fancy of the Hindi film industry," Vashu tells me, "I bounced the idea of starting BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN - II and HERO NO . 1 - II to David Dhawan [David had directed these two films] and he jumped at it. These two films have tremendous recall value and are extremely popular with cinegoers to this day. The sequel to F.A.L.T.U. is also on the cards." Will the stars of BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN [Amitabh Bachchan, Govinda] and HERO NO. 1 [Govinda] feature in the sequel as well? "The star cast will be different," he divulges.
Besides making three sequels, Vashu has plans of remaking his REHNAA HAI TERRE DIL MEIN, which starred Madhavan, Saif Ali Khan and Dia Mirza in the lead. The melodious tunes of this film [music: Harris Jayaraj] are heard even after a decade of its release. "It' a fantastic film that I am keen to remake. In fact, I wish to record fresh songs for this one. Only 'Zara Zara' from the original will be retained," Vashu states, "F.A.L.T.U. has given me the confidence to make 3/4 films in the next one-and-a-half years."
