A fortnight ago, this writer broke the news of T-Series relinquishing the rights of two keenly anticipated films AKS and DIL CHAHTA HAI (Aamir, Saif, Akshaye Khanna, Preity Zinta). While the rights of AKS were lapped up by H.M.V., who have already taken the entire five-film lot of A.B. Corp, one wondered which company would get its hands on DIL CHAHTA HAI. There was speculation that Sony would step in, since the music of Aamir Khans LAGAAN is with them. But we have now learnt that the rights will continue to be with T-Series, though the producers of the film or the music company have yet to issue an official statement to that effect. When this writer contacted Mukesh Desai, CEO of Super Cassettes Industries Ltd., he did not deny the development, but added that a clear picture should emerge by Tuesday (May 8).
