One of the most patriotic songs composed in Hindi films - Aye Mere Watan Ke Logo rendered by Lata Mangeshkar has created problems for the music company Saregama-HMV. Mitul Pradeep, daughter of renowned poet Pradeep who also penned this song has filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) against Saregama in the Bombay High Court. The patriotic song was penned by Pradeep on the special request of composer C. Ramchandra after the 1962 Indo-China war on the agreement that the royalty derived from the sale of the cassettes and records of this song would be donated to the disabled army personnel, widows and orphans fund of the Union government. But the music company has failed to provide the details of the royalty paid to the government. The hearing of the case will be on June 30.
