The Censor Board of Film Certification issued a 'U' certificate to Chori Chori Chupke Chupke on Monday. However, the release date has not been finalised and the situation will be clear in the next three days. Meanwhile, the BJP Gujarat youth wing, BJP Yuva Morcha has banned the release of film Chori Chori Chupke Chupke in Gujarat. The Yuva Morcha has threatened that even if the government grants green signal for release of this film, the Yuva Morcha will not permit any show in any of the theatres in Gujarat. They have started vociferous protests and demonstrations at the theatres where the film was scheduled for release. Earlier, when Sanjay Dutt was arrested under the draconian TADA Act for nexus with underworld, the Yuva Morcha had organized a successful boycott of the movie Khshatriya at a time when rival Congress was in power. Now when in Gujarat, BJP itself is the ruling party, it is sure that the theatres owner will have to face tough times if they want to exhibit CCCC. Now days when most of Hindi films are flopping at the box office, the theatre owners are in financial troubles. Their only hope for succor was a hit banner release like CCCC and Raju Chahca. But now with CCCC in trouble, the theatre owners are in for tough times ahead. In a related development, the BJP took out protest marches and tore down posters of CCCC at Prabhadevi in central Mumbai. As is usual, the political parties in India are bankrupt for issues. Such high-profile non-issues are perfect for them to divert attention for other more serious and pressing issues. So expect more of this CCCC controversy in times ahead.
