Bhagyashree makes her directorial debut

With her petite looks and girl-next-door image, it would be a little difficult to believe that Bhagyashree has chosen a very naughty subject of a married man's fantasies for her directorial debut, but she says, I know most women directors choose to make women-oriented and socially-relevant films, but I wanted my first film to be different. The actress, who stormed into Bollywood with MAINE PYAR KIYA opposite Salman Khan, followed by a successful stint in the film industry and some good serials on television, has decided to add one more feather to her cap. This time, she has written and directed her debut tele-film titled UFF YUM MAA for Star One's Friday film slot, Studio One. Hubby Himalay has produced the film and is very proud of his wife. He says, She was always a good actress, but she is a fantastic writer too. She's done a great job with the film. About the tele-film, which stars Sooraj Thapar, Anjali Mukhi and Bijal, Bhagyshree says, It's an adult comedy about a married man fantasising about another woman while his wife is away. It results into funny situations, at the end of which he realizes that there's nobody better than your own wife! The actress says she had been toying with the idea of directing for a long time now. We are working on our feature-film for the big screen and were reviewing scripts for television when we heard of Star One's film slot. We then decided to start off with something and that's how UFF YUM MAA happened. Coming up next is a feature film which is a romantic thriller to be directed by Ananth Mahadevan in 2005 and a few more films for Star One and Zee. Meanwhile, Bhagyashree awaits viewers' response to her first film.
