Arshad on small screen

The armed forces in Leh seem completely bowled by Sohail Khan’s forthcoming venture I PROUD TO BE AN INDIAN, directed by Puneet Sira.

Reportedly, a special screening of the film was held for the armed forces a few days ago. The armed forces are an apt example of integrity and brotherhood. For the Jawans, all that matters is their motherland. Since I PROUD TO BE AN INDIAN is a patriotic film in the sense it raises a voice against racism, we felt that screening the film for the armed forces would be a step in the right direction, the debutante director tells me.

And how did the Jawans react to the film? They loved it, pat comes the reply, They also loved the concept the film depicts, of an Indian and Pakistani joining hands to fight racial discrimination. Our film conveys the message, United we stand, divided we fall. That comes across strongly in the film.

The screening was attended by Sohail Khan, Puneet Sira and actor Kulbhushan Kharbanda, who plays a significant role in the film. I PROUD TO BE AN INDIAN is slated for release on February 13, 2004.
