Arjun Rampal in Darna Zaroori Hai

Arjun Rampal is keeping his fingers crossed for DEEWAANAPAN. Besides Asoo Trikha, who makes his directorial debut with the film, Arjun is also keenly looking forward to the film’s response. “It has shaped up very well and Asoo has been an excellent director to work with. But the whole effort pays off only if a film succeeds. So let’s wait and watch,” Arjun says.

Arjun has four releases lined up one after the other in the next few months, starting with DEEWAANAPAN, followed by MOKSHA, AANKHEN and DIL HAI TUMHARA. From what one hears, the dismal response to his first film, PYAAR ISHQ AUR MOHABBAT, has hardly affected his market price. Moreover, with Subhash Ghai signing him a couple of days ago (with Kareena Kapoor as his co-star for a film to be directed by Satish Kaushik), it is one more ace up his sleeve.

Only a few days ago, there were rumours that Arjun had refused to do a Mukta Arts film because he was denied permission to go through the script. “It is true that I am particular about going through the script before signing a film. It is very important for an actor to be able to identify with a role if he has to take a decision of doing it. But it is totally false that I demanded any script from Subhash-ji. In fact, I’ll be working with Subhash-ji not in just one film, but a couple of projects,” Arjun says.
