Satish Kaushik and Anil Kapoor may have burned their fingers in their debut production BADHAAI HO BADHAAI, but that hasn't deterred them from going ahead and starting their new film under the Kapoor & Kaushik banner. Satish Kaushik confirmed the news of their new project when this writer called to verify the development. ''We're still working on the script of the film. In fact, the first draft has just been okayed and writer Imtiaz Hussain is working on the final draft, giving it the necessary finishing touches," the director divulges. Satish continues, "Actually, the story is based on a real-life incident. I read about it in a newspaper while shooting for MUJHE KUCHH KEHNA HAI in Delhi and it's been with me since then. It's about a simpleton and how his relatives pronounce him dead to usurp his property and wealth. The man decides to prove that he is alive and fight it out in the court of law. It takes him 18 years to prove that he's alive and by the time he gets justice, he is as good as dead." Quite an offbeat theme, isn't it? ''Yes, it is," Satish agrees, "In fact, I'm targetting the film at the festival circuit. It's time to make something different. People are tired of watching the routine stuff on television and it's high time we offered something that's beyond the reach of television." Obviously, Anil would enact the title role, he adds. Meanwhile, Satish is in the midst of the post-production work of his new film TERE NAAM and he can't stop praising Salman's performance in the film. ''Salman is simply amazing in the film. He's sure to win all praises once the film releases," Satish states.
