You may find this strange, but the release dates of all subsequent films, slated for release in June, have gone for a toss with LAGAAN moving ahead from its original date of June 1. Aamir Khan flew to Mumbai on the night of May 3 and is all set to meet the distributors of the film the next day, May 4 at 12.30 p.m. IST, to be precise. The closed-door meeting is supposed to be held at Aamirs office and the release date will be decided then. But this writer got the EXCLUSIVE comment from Jhamu Sughand, the financier of the film, vis-?is the release date of the film. Reveals Jhamu, Hopefully, we will release the film on June 8. The postponement can be attributed to the slight delay in the post-production of the film. But the print should be ready by May 12 or maximum by May 15. Im aware that our distributors have already booked the theatres, keeping June 1 as the release date. But thats not a big issue. The chain of theatres can be altered and the exhibitors will understand that this is a genuine case. Fresh promos of the film will be on air starting next week. At the moment, we are concentrating on song-based trailers, since the music is different and we want it to grow further by the time the film hits the theatres. However, the talkie trailers will be introduced one week before the films release. However, Jhamu is confident that the film will arrive on June 8.
