‘AAA’ – It’s not ‘Charlie’s Angels’

Guess what has Deepak Shivdasani – the director of YEH RAASTE HAIN PYAAR KE [Ajay Devgan, Madhuri Dixit, Preity Zinta] and JULIE [Neha Dhupia] – titled his next venture? It’s called AAA. Yes, you’ve read that right! Why did he opt for an offbeat title like AAA? Because I can’t call my film AMAR AKBAR ANTHONY, Deepak laughs, but he comes to the point immediately, AAA revolves around three girls. It’s a revenge film, with action in good doses. Incidentally, the names of the three characters in the film begin with the alphabet A, hence the title. The title excites me, he adds. Reminds me so much of CHARLIE’S ANGELS, I tell him. That’s what people will think when they get to know of its genre. But it’s not remotely similar to CHARLIE’S ANGELS, the young director clarifies. The cast of AAA is still undecided. We have just finished the first draft of the script [story idea: Deepak himself, screenplay: Nishikant Kamat, dialogues: Sanjay Pawar]. The moment we are ready with the final draft, we’ll begin casting for the film, Deepak adds. But Deepak does spring a surprise when he informs me that he’s keen to have Akshaye Khanna as the male lead. In fact, the male lead is the negative force in the film. Akshaye’s an amazing actor. I’d love to have him in the project. But I haven’t spoken to him yet, Deepak adds. AAA will go on the floors in September with a start-to-finish schedule. The film will be shot for 10 days at a hill station in India, another 3 days in Goa and the remainder in Hong Kong, he divulges.
