Mission Istaanbul is a hilarious action movie that passes the time. The first half of the movie is done really well and quite tactfully. It starts off as a political thriller where Zayed Khan is doing the dangerous job of interviewing terrorists and gets offered a job in Istanbul. His employers are mysterious and clearly hide many secrets which Zayed choose to ignore at first. After the death of a colleague, he meets the mysterious Vivek Oberoi who warns him that he is in danger. The second half is just pure action. The movie just seems like a parody of action movies and is good fun to watch as it is so cheesy. So many scenes show that two main characters cheesily striding forward with grins on their face in slow motion. Another scene just after they have been involved in a car chase, their female companion opens up her boot where she just so conveniently has exactly 3 (1 for each person) cans of mountain dew in a box full of ice and they all grab one and crack them open to celebrate. If I wanted to watch soft drink adverts, I can do that at home. Other things that made me cringe were the lines, who the hell wrote the dialogue. Indian people just cant pull off lines like "lets rock bro""rock out" and "go get 'em tiger" It just sounds so off and out of place. Overall a solid effort that goes off track a bit but ends up being an okay movie
What I liked about the movie:
Action scenes were well done.
What I didn't like about the movie:
The fact that it turns from being realistic and very believable to a sort of superhero fantasy movie whereby Zayed Khan can all of a sudden take on armys of terrorists and jump of buildings without getting a scratch. Also all the bullets he shoots magically find their way to the intended targets despite him having no training
