U me aur hum (UMAH), is a movie written and directed by Ajay Devgan (AD). Here is its review. I am writing its review after 19 days because I saw The Notebook and A moment to remember before watching this one. Because some people have told me that its a copied movie. So, I want to see is it really copied. Answer is NO.
Story: A nice one and and slightly new in terms of content.
Direction: UMAH stand out only because of one man, and that is AD. He is superb as a director. He used a very different and original (except gray look) way to narrate the story to the viewers. Some people told me tht its really not consistence and too many flashbacks was painful, so if u give something different to peopled they don't understand the amount of effort goes into it. I liked it. Actually this style made everyone see the movie very carefully and then some scenes shock you. AD as a first time director does a best job.
Music: Good, but background score of title track could make some scenes even more effective, but i think AD actually tried something different. he wants people to feel character's pain not music's.
Performance: Best actor and actress award for this year for AD and Kajol. (unless some other great performance come in the year)
Kajol: She is just terrific. She played such character for the first time and did full justice. Although her makeup seems not right at some places.
Box office: we know tht it is not a clear winner. i don't know may be people like more comedies or reincarnation these days. OR may be one need to be in love to understand UMAH.
What I liked about the movie:
Overall, everything.
What I didn't like about the movie:
Nothing much
Would you recommend this movie to your friend: Yes
