Yash Raj Films lately are counting on style and Tashan only for success of their movies. With dreadful flops like Tara Ram Pum, Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, Laga Chunari Mien daag, Aaja Nach Le and now thier latest Super Flop Tashan, it seems that People at Yash Raj dont care about the stories of there movies at all. With his mega star cast, the director of Tashan Vijay Acharya has just created all hype but failed to deliver at all.
A cool call center executive Jimmy Cliff (Saif Ali Khan), a desi wannable gangster Bachchan Pande (Akshay Kumar), add for good measure a beautiful girl Pooja (Kareena Kapoor) who can’t be trusted… on a journey across spectacular India… a journey which will alter the course of their lives in more ways than one… a journey where even enemies need to trust each other if they want to be alive…
Trouble is, in this world no one can be trusted ever!
And to top it all there is the evil eye of Bhaiyyaji (Anil Kapoor)… a maverick gangster who enjoys killing people as much as he enjoys speaking English…
Akshay Kumar is the scene stealer and basically rules the screen in every scene he is. His entry is the funniest part in the movie. Saif Ali Khan looks like a side hero to Akshay and doesnt have anything much to do in the movie. Kareena Kapoor is bascially in this movie to show off her new size zero figure and wear minimal clothes and dance around. Anil Kapoor is pretty good in the english speaking don and at times reminds of the legendry performace of Javed Jaffery as Jack Dundi from the movie Salaam Namaste.
The climax of the Tashan is very pathetic and I felt the Mithun pictures have much more realistic sequences and fight then what it was shown in Tashan. The akshay, kareena and Saif cannont be killed by around 1000 gun men shooting them in a circle, also they amazingly come out of a bomb blast unharmed, director forgets two times in the movie that akshay was shot, suddenly many chinese fighters come in the gang of U.P. bhaiya gangster and the best of all, a speed boat is cruising through a nala.
All in all go and watch this movie only if you want to see some good stunts by akshay and Kareena Kapoor in the Bikni.
