First things first- this film does have those few scenes that speaks volumes, sends that chill down your spine, and does choke you. The 3 stars rating for this film is mainly because it reminds you of the people that have given up their lives for us.
This film is balanced well with those few funny lines [Sohail and Vatsal and Preity's kid] and that dose of emotions [Preity, Mithun, Sunny] Salman, Bobby and Dino got not much to do. Sohail and Vatsal are average. Riya S, Amrita A and Hrishitta B are wasted. The real heroes of this film are Preity and Mithun and the kid that plays Preity's son.
Yes, there are a number of loop holes in the film. Some scenes would make you laugh out loud at the stupidity. For eg. Sunny crawling like an incredible hulk, or screaming his lungs out on the wheel chair, or Sohail catching a fish in the rivers of Leh.
All said and done and rightly said- you dont have to be a soldier to love your country. And that I will agree! After all they are the real HEROES.
What I liked about the movie:
Preity as the widow is awesome. She is a complete natural and the best. The next best performance would be that of Mithun. As the unhappy father, he emotes every emotion naturally!
What I didn't like about the movie:
The songs were a complete no-no. Except for the Salman-Preity song, the rest were out of place and out of tune.
Sunny Deol is just over the top. His story does have a lot of potential, but its all marred by a weak execution and performance.
The film did start of on a very realistic note. Wish it had maintained that note through out. With some stupid scenes it makes you wonder where this film is headed!
