No Smoking(movie review) I was eagerly looking forward to "No Smoking" ever since i read the preview of the film and later, the look of the film made me even more curious. And, to top it all, it's a Anurag Kashyap film after much acclaimed Black Friday. But after i read Taran Adarsh's review(overall negative response from the media/other critics) on No Smoking, i wasn't sure what to expect! But again, i thought it may not be so wise to trust Taran Adarsh for a Hatke film like No Smoking. So, i decided to give it a try. So, what is this film about? As we all know, it's about a man who's addicted(though not an appropriate term in medical sense) to smoking. And, then the time comes when he must choose one, between his will(smoking) &his love(wife). Now, after deciding to quit smoking, he must go through a rehabilitation programme. And what we see in the film, from the point when treatment starts, is surreal in context to his(K) physical life. It is in fact, the experience of his soul, throughout the rehabilitation programme/treatment period. Anurag Kashyap deserve applauds for making such a hatke, brave film. The visuals were upto the mark. I loved the music too(don't care what anyone says). John Abraham looked just perfect in the role(K) and acted very well too. Paresh Rawal(Baba Bangali) was good and so was Ayesha Takia(Anjali). Ranbir Shorey(Abbas Tyrewala) did a nice job as expected. To conclude- I'll say, it's a simple film, and yet very complicated if you're unable to look/think beyond what you see(especially for persons like Taran Adarsh, who may find it as a maze with a dead end)! PS- For those, who're wondering if it's an anti-smoking film or not! ---> NO, it's not!

What I liked about the movie:
Concept,performances

What I didn't like about the movie:
It may seem confusing to some especially if you fail to comprehend directors vision

Would you recommend this movie to your friend: Yes
