2 hetrosexual men pretend to be homosexual inorder to live with Priyanka. What follows in the lives of these 3 friends is what Dostana is all about. Dostana works majorly for the gay jokes and situations. Take them out, and this film is flat!
John A and Abhisheik are perfect and hilarious with their gay act. Individually, John is fixed with one facial expression. Abhisheik scores with the emotions. Priyanka's role is nothing great, but she is suprisingly natural. Bobby is alright. Wish he didnt have that 'chamku' look. The kid is also very good. Shilpa S bounces well in the intro song.
On the whole, DOSTANA is happy and gay!
What I liked about the movie:
Of the cast, Kirron K is excellent as the mother. Over the top and hilarious. Sushmita M as the sindhi aunty is fantastic. Talent not used for a very long time. Boman I as the gay editor is gay as one can be.
The songs shut up, desi girl and jaane kyun are winners for sure.
The are also a few scenes that are handled really well. Plain and simple and noy gay.
What I didn't like about the movie:
The climax could have been better. Kiss and make up? Nah! Also the film leaps ahead very quickly. You need to weave a story of your own by the time you go to the next scene at times.
