Hello,
It was about the film Dostana.
My intension to watch this movie was totally different from others. As a gay man I wanted to see how the homosexuality was portrayed to the people of India. In the following review l am speaking only for myself and no one else.
I realise the intension of this movie was not serious but that does not make it less offensive towards homosexuality. it was very insensitive efforts to make money
I am out and proud gay man. My housemates, parents and co-workers know that l am gay from last few years, but questions like ‘will your mother do the same to your boyfriend as kiran kher did to john?’ ‘Since you are muscular is your boyfriend going to be girly? ’ were never asked.
I am not sure if you are aware but India has the most wide and hidden gay underworld. There are many men who are still ashamed or scared to come out to the society and movies like this do not make it any easier for them. Compared to the movie - Fashion where gay relationship was shown quite realistically this movie fails to make any positive impression.
In addition, priyanka chopra’s character came across very stupid that she did not understand that john and abhishek are in love with her when they go out in the park and for dinner. Boman irani, the kid and Bobby deol acted well.
