There was lot of speculation about the story of ‘DOSTANA’. On every channels or magazine there was lots of information about this movie..People were thinking whether this is a GAY movie or what. Due to these facts I was so curious and excited to watch the movie. Recently all the big budgets movies didn’t turn well at the box office that’s why I decided not to spend too much money on the movie.For the safer part I watched morning show(8.45AM SHOW) of ‘Dostana’.
Well movie starts with a Shilpa Shetty’s song which was the entry point for Abhi and John. The song is awesome..Miami Beach,Hot Babes and terrific Shilpa..everybody inside the theater enjoyed the songs and cheered it with whistle.
Movie revolve around Abhishek and John.Abhishek(Sam) is playing the character of ‘Nurse’ and John(Kunal) is a photographer in the movie. Everyone can be surprise with the fact that Abhi is a nurse in hospital..why not Doctor or compunder..well for that watch movie..you will surely enjoy the reason.
Suddenly both Abhi and John life gone for a toss when they came to know that they have to search another accommodation within 2weeks a time. Now from here the story take a turn..both of them manage to get the same flat and both of them wants to take the flat.But again there is one problem and problem is that the flat is only available for the females.So to get the flat they pretend to be a GAY infront of the landlord.Then Landlord allows them to share the flat with her niece(Priyanka Chopra). Now the main story starts with Abhishek,John and Priyanka.
Well First Half is full of comedy,fun and dhamal. Chemistry between Abhishek and John is too good. Both of them played their character perfectly.Everyone whether it is Priyanka or her aunt or her boss or immigration officer..everyone believes that they are GAY.Suddenly two new character entered into this story and they are ‘Boman Irani’ and ‘Kiran Kher’. Due to the fact that both of them are GAY,Priyanka Chopra becomes very close to them and enjoyed every moment with them.At one point to impress her boss Boman she introduce Abhi and John with them.Even Boman is playing the same character(GAY).Then Kiron Kher enter into the story and she is playing the character of Abhi’s mother.One day she came to know that his son is GAY and she comes to MIAMI to meet him. That part is too much funny.
First half is too much hilarious,entire theater was laughing.Not a single scene which is not perfectly picturized.Boman and Kiran Kher’s role is short and sweet.
After Fashion this is another good performance by Priyanks. She looks so sexy and hot in the bikni. Abhishek’s mindless comedy supported by John is the backbone of the movie. No cheap comedy , No double meaning..full of fun.
In the first half all the songs are good specially ‘Ma Ka Ladla’ and Shilpa Shetty’s song.
But the second half is completely opposite of first half. Movie become little bit slow in comparison with first half. Now some serious work with less comedy.Well Now another character ‘Bobby Deol’ comes to the picture.He is the new boss of Priyanka and Priyanks hates him because she thinks that she deserve Bobby’s position.
Now there is another twist and the twist is that all 3,Abhi,Bobby and John are fall in love with Priyanka. Now for the shake of their love Abhi and John makes plan to get rid off from Bobby.For that reason they do some activity to put wrong impression about Bobby.Now at this segment there was little light comedy.Specially the scene in which priyanka feels that Abhi and John both likes Bobby. But one day the truth come out that both of them are not gay and they only did this because of the flat.Along with this both of them also express their feelings for her. But finally all the good things happen and Priyanka finds her love Bobby and all 3 friends rock the world.
The basic theme of the movie is friendship. Just for friendship both of them pretend to be a GAY.Just for the happiness of another friend ,two friends kiss each other infront of the public. The dialogues are perfect and ‘DESI GIRL’ song in second half is excellent.Three cheers for Abhishek,John and Priyanka.All 3 are awesome.
Well in some of the scene has flavour of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabh Kushi Kabhi Gum.
Music and Cinematography is excellent. All the characters are perfectly placed and story is narrated properly.
Fully Entertaining movie.Everyone should watch atleast one time.
