'Chak De' and 'DDD Goal' are the new genre sport-related movies where the issues engulfing sport arena are potrayed on the canvas. while 'Chak De' showed the Indian canvas, 'DDD Goal' went a step ahead and displayed the 'Asian' problems in UK and I am sure, lot of Indians living outside India, can feel it in one aspect or other. Overall, fairly a good attempt to the subject! The subject has been studied and analysed well. The Director has indeed the skill to present stories using the English canvas.
Arshad and John are not only excellent in their acting skills in this movie but also impressive with their foot skill. Boman is equally impressive as a coach. But my pick of the movie would be the actor who played John's friend and fan. Wish to see him with more substantial roles.
Bips is OK and her character has not been craved much beyond the typical bollywood style hot,homely and subtly horny :), lady. It is much of a man's movie as compared to 'Chak de'.
Personally, 'No Smoking' went tangent to my head, yet John pulled up another perfect characterization with his well chiselled look and skill in the movie. Worth seeing !!
What I liked about the movie:
1. One liners of Raj Zutsi
2. Way the subjects are handled in the movie.
3. Football skills displayed by the actors.
What I didn't like about the movie:
1. Characterization of Bips. Could have been a more powerful potrayal.
