DOR....For those who prefer reading only the first line of the review: It is a magnificient movie. Let us elaborate. If you have the taste for movies that is similar to the one of Mr. Editor of Indiafm, then please don't watch this movie. You won't like it. If you'll go, you will hamper the BO prospects of the movie by your publicity. I have nothing against such people. Everyone has his/her own tastes. And Mr. Taran is addressing the masses. Let me here address the classes. If you disagree with Taran's most of the ratings, go and watch the film, the film is for you. So, what is there in the film. It is story of Human Relations. How two completely different women meet and how their suddenly changed world changes even more. I won't tell you the story, it will take the sheen out of the film. Contrary to what I have read till now at IndiaFM, the movie is not slow. Shreyas makes up for every little nanosecond of boredom. He is a complete riot in the film. In his introductory scene, he will have you in splits and you would be forced to say, "Bas kar yaar, ab aur mat hasaa." Such is his comic timing. The film is marked by commendable performances, and there is not a single character in the film who hasn't done justice to his/her character. They are all completely honest to their jobs and for that one needs to laud Nagesh, he has extracted best out of them. I always believe it the job of the director to make his actors act, if a director is good, anyone can act. The story has some minor flaws but they are hidden extremely well by the flawless execution of ideas. Music is supportive and at no point feels out of place, an aberration from majority of hindi films. Lyrics are extremely relevant and their beauty lie in their simplicity. Dialogues are simple but penetrative. There will be dialogues that you will take home with you. They won't have anything lyrical in them, but simple dialogues which are made powerful by their timing, usage and execution. As far as scenes go, there are so many scenes to select the best one. But, Shreya's introductory scene, Kajra Re song scene, Cinema scene and many others will leave you spellbound. On the whole, see the movie if you have an apetite for the movies like Swades, Iqbal and others. You will adore it. If you like those glossy films then please don't watch the film. You will hate it. Whatever has been written above are my views and may not be in accord with your views. So, in the end it is your choice. But, if you do watch the movie then please write to me with your views. I am giving 4.5 stars because the movie deserves this much. I am not giving 5 stars because I'd be using Dor as a benchmark for future films and if there would be better movie, then that movie will get 5 stars. I promise!
