To be honest, I haven't been much of a fan Mani Ratnam films as I thought both Yuva and Guru were mediocre. In Guru, Bollywood's hottest couple Aishwarya and Abishek look horrible as Aishwarya appeared ill and her prancing around in her solo song "Barso Re" seemed tacky and some what stupid. The music of the film is ok as there are two songs which I most liked called Maiyya Maiyya and Tere Bina, outstanding songs! The cinematography was excellent and although Abishek's looks were terrible, his acting superb. Same goes for Aishwarya. The story I wasn't too fond of and neither was I too fond of the subject. The concept just did not appeal to me as much. If you were to be watching this film at home and someone walks in, it would be unlikely they would stop in thier tracks to watch the film.
What I liked about the movie:
Abishek and Aish's acting, Cinematography and 2 songs Maiyya Maiyya and Tere Bina.
What I didn't like about the movie:
Stupid dance moves, Aishwarya's prancing in that song Barso Re. The overall concept of the film and the way Ash and Abishek look.
