Priyadarshan packages comedy & suspense thriller in ‘Bhaagam Bhag’. It appeals. It creates uproarious laughter, no doubt but in the long run I seriously felt a great sense of déjà vu as the second half leaves you cold & numb with senseless blood & gore galore. Anyways guys & gals go have fun in the first half & then you can safely walk out in the second half. Bunty (Akshay Kumar) & Babla (Govinda – How many more disastrous comebacks do you need Chi Chi Bhai?) are theatre actors Kam but chalu flirts jyada! They work for Champakbhai’s (Paresh Rawal) theatre company. Once their Indian shows hit the roof Bhola (Asrani) offers them a month long shows in England. But the heroine Sheena (Tanushree Dutta) deserts them as on the eve of departure Bunty & Babla had tried to get fresh with her. While Champak rejects the starlets of the troupe Reena (Masumi Udeshi) & Sonia (Amita Nangia). They reach England but Champak is roving mad. Heroine ab tak nahin mili. He gives a challenging ultimatum to Bunty & Babla. The one who searches a new heroine will be the main hero. A taxi driver (Rajpal Yadav) introduces them to a memory affected lass Minnie (Lara Dutta). Aur jab uski yaadein wapas aati hai ! All hell is let loose. She has a past of her own. But in the present she is nabbed by a cop Kishen Singh (Jackie Shroff). She is framed for the Murder of her hubby dear Raaj Singh (Arbaaz Khan). Bechare Bunty aur Babla also gets caught in a drug kingpin Bhai’s (Manoj Joshi) dragnet. Priyadarshan has tried to be experimentally different but ends up with a mish mash cocktail of comedy & murder mystery. A remix of two genre which was also the main highlight of Director duo Abbas – Mustan’s ’36 China Town’. Performance wise as usual Paresh Rawal overshadows the entire gang. Akshay Kumar is routinely boring. Lara Dutta is just there, lending glam. Govinda hams & looks awesome oops awful. The rest do not even deserve a one liner mention.
