Salaam-e-Ishq is not good enough to be described as a tribute to love. It does have a few interesting scenes and some superb performances, especially from Govinda and Akshaye Khanna. The John-Vidya story is simply too boring and even more predictable, although I'm surprised she didn't get her memory back when she had the car accident! Govinda performs very well and should continue playing character roles (as opposed to being the lead) unless he wants to work with Mithun. Sohail Khan is funny but he won't gain much from such a role. Salman Khan would have achieved much more than he has, if he used his head a little more. Being an A-grade actor (alongside Aamir, Shahrukh, Hrithik and Amitabh), he should think before signing a film. The role didn't have much in it and he made things worse by trying to be cool, sorry but it hasn't worked this time. Priyanka needs to quit Bollywod, she is annoying me after Aap Ki Khatir. Anil Kapoor acts well in his role. John Abraham could have done a lot better than that. Akshaye Khanna was just too good.
What I liked about the movie:
Performances, music and the fact that there were six stories so that you could get relief from each one after a while.
What I didn't like about the movie:
The director thought he was going to hit it big time, so he tried to make a joke out of his mentor, Karan Johar. Well, I'm sure Kamna or Kamni would rather work with Karan than Nikhil.
