Shankar Ehsaan Loy wow the world with a revolutionary step in Bollywood music with Rock On!!.Never did i imagine that i cud include hindi songs in my list of favorite proper Rock songs.
Farhan Akhtar singing 6 out of 9 songs has an amazing voice.
The tile song 'Rock on' is a damn good number which starts off with the rock version of the lakshya music if u can recognise that.The lyrics are quite cool too.
'Pichle Saat Dino Mein' is again a crazy song.Lyrics are vague but make sense at the same time.The music is wonderful and also has a solo guitar piece midway which is just awsome and looks great on screen when Joe(Arjun Rampal) plays it.Infact this song has 2 versions, one a recorded version and a live version which is part of the film. The live version has Farhan speaking out and gearing the crowd which is quite like how its done in a rock concert.Also Farhan's voice modulations in this song is crazy!
'Socha Hai' which is the opening song of the movie is out of this world and again has a brilliant guitar solo, to die for.Lyrics agai-Radical.
'Tum Ho toh' in Adi's(Farhan Akhtar) words 'ek aisa gaana hai, ek soft ballad jo is album ko depth deta hai.' And he's not wronh its soulful!
The final performance is withe song 'Sinbad the sailor' which is a cool song...lovely lively music through the song ending with a small snippet of tum ho toh which is not by Farhan, but who joins in and gets the crowd roaring for more.
The only 3 songs not sung by Farha are 'Zehreelay',which is a song by their rival band, hence its loud and metallish but good nevertheless.
The other 2 are 'Phir Dekhiye' and 'Yeh Tumhari meri baatein' which come at the epilogue and midway respectively and are both sung by female voices...soft sweet, Applaudable. Good for a seren mood.
Altogether, KEEP ROCKING GUYS!!! Hats off to all involved withe music. Lyrics, vocals guitaring, keboadr, drums.....everything is just too good!
