Tashan continues the dominating era of Vishal Shekhar music, after hits such as Johnny Gadaar, Om Shanti Om, Cash, etc. The music of this album does not aim to westernize the movie, but rather to modernize it, remaining true to the grassroots. One can easily infer from the music that while the movie is an action movie, it is also distinctly an Indian movie. While not to make any predictions, it also seems to reinforce that the movie will not be a ripoff of hollywood, though that is a bold statement to make.
