I read some of the reviews that were given to Umrao Jaan's music - .5, 1, 1.5. But these ratings were given because this Umrao Jaan music was compared to the yesteryear's Umrao Jaan's music. Sure - there is undoubtedly to be comparison as everyone's first instinct. But comparing yesteryear's music to this music is an insult to the yesteryear's music. Today's Umrao Jaan music is no comparison to the yesteryear Umrao Jaan music - but its still great music, especially when you see the quality of songs made in these days. Salaam is an excellent number that can be a track listened to 2-3 times when listening to this album. And the rest of the songs follow the similar trails. Again, not as amazing as the 80's Umrao Jaan music, but still very good music that is worth the buy.
