| The unit of Shoebite damaged government property during the Shimla shoot. As per sources, important portions were being shot near the Chief Minister's residence, located southwest of the Mall, towards Chota Shimla. For one of the scenes, featuring Amitabh Bachchan, a foot of the security railing was cut to install a camera in the high security zone. A section of the local media captured the damaged railing on camera. When the pictures became public, officials of Shimla's 'Nagar Nigam' panicked due to the incident taking place in a VIP zone, not normally accessible/allowed for shooting. Shoojit Sircar regretted the incident, but added that there were no malafide intentions. The railing was repaired by the film's unit. |

| Abhishek Bachchan got a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play the role of a young Amitabh Bachchan in Shoebite but he turned it down.
He was obviously approached because his frame and features are very similar to that of the senior Bachchan. But AB's baby had a few reservations.

| On 21st Jan 2008, the unit of Shoebite shot with a duplicate of Amitabh Bachchan on the banks of Beas river since he could not make it to the sets on time. Since the weather was clear, the unit decided not to wait for him and went ahead with the duplicate instead. Security had to be called to control the crowd who got unruly after they realised that they would not get a glimpse of their favorite star. Big B arrived in Manali a day later. |

| Dia Mirza missed shooting for a few hours thanks to a finger injury on the sets of Shoebite. The actress injured her hand while enacting a scene where she had to slip into the rear seat of the car parked on a steep slope. As she was slipping in, with her hand clutching the edge of the boot, a unit hand unknowingly slammed it shut. She was rushed to a nearby hospital where her fingers were examined. However, the doctors ruled out any possibility of a sever fracture and diagnosed it as ligament tear. |
