| Esha Deol was not the first choice for Mahesh Bhatt's Jannat, to be directed by first-timer Kunal Deshmukh. Vishesh Films first tried to rope in Kangana Ranaut who worked with them in Woh Lamhe, but then cast Esha when Ranaut did not give them dates.

| As a part of the preparation for the film Jannat, which takes a scathing look at the rampant match-fixing, Emraan Hashmi and debutant director Kunal Deshmukh took frequent rounds of popular haunts of bookies in the Bombay city. Emraan and Kunal closely observed the body language and terminology commonly used by bookies and their aides during an on-going match.

| When Mahesh Bhatt saw Jannat, he strongly recommended an extra shot in the climax that required Sonal Chauhan. However Sonal was shooting for a film down south. So Kunal, who was in a hurry as the film releases in the first week of May, rushed to the sets of Raaz 2 and canned that one shot with Kangana. |
