By IndiaFM News Bureau, February 26, 2004 - 13:50 IST

This film made news right from its start for bringing back the dynamic duo of Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra onscreen after a hiatus of 23 long years. And though the star-pair will just appear in extended guest roles in the film, expectations would be rife considering all their previous films – Sholay, Chupke Chupke and Ram Balram were jubilee hits.

The highlight of this film is that its entire starcast comprises of yesteryear artistes. Apart from Big B and Dharmendra, the film stars Dimple Kapadia, Moushmi Chatterjee and Prem Chopra. Hum Kaun Hai is a supernatural thriller shot both in Hindi and Bengali versions.

The film is produced by Soni Juneja (son of yesteryear filmmaker Tito of the Tito-Tony duo) and directed by debutante Ravi Shankar Sharma who assisted Yash Chopra in films like “Mashaal”, “Faasle”, “Vijay” and Sunil Dutt in “Dard Ka Rishta”. And in the vein of a true thriller, this film too would be completely devoid of songs.

    Storyline

In an isolated brick mansion set amidst thick woods and mist, live Sandra Williams and her two children Sarah and David. Sandra's husband Major Frank John Williams is in the army and at war. There has been no news of him for a while.

The three servants, Mrs. Pinto (the nanny), Edgar (the gardener), and Maria (the helper), are employed by the Williams. The servants are strictly briefed about the quaint rules of the house and obey the orders diligently. They move around the house in soft steps and darkness adding to that sinister feel of the film.

Sandra feels that it is necessary to deal with the strange happenings in the house and goes to consult with Father D'Souza. On the way she is shocked when she runs into her husband Frank. Frank is in a dazed state and seems to be delusional. The family is thrilled on Frank's return. During the reunion of the kids with their father, Sarah shares a secret with her father that leaves Frank aghast. It is then that he decides to leave the house.

Frank with his friend Virendra take it upon themselves to get to the bottom of the mystery and intrigue, surrounding the Williams.

    And after that?
