'Wrong Number' is a youthful entertainer in the mold of films like 'Khel Khel Mein' and 'Khiladi' that starts out as a harmless celebration of pranks, but soon develops into a suspense thriller where death prowls, unexpected and unstoppable.
The story begins with the introduction of the following four characters
Mahi (Richa Pallod)
Aarti (Rinku Ghosh) who is an uninhabited & a happy go lucky girl.
Karan (Rakesh Bapat), a studious boy who is in love with Mahi
Monty (Vrajesh Hirjee), the prankster in the group, who's also a part-time fashion photographer.
The above group of four friends keep making random phone calls to people. Mahi and Aarti entice them and they all have a good laugh at the reaction of the victimized call receiver. Till one day, they meet Raj (Parveen Dabbas), who turns the tables on them, earning their respect and slowly, Mahi's love too. Just then, an unknown assailant murders Mahi's father for unknown reasons.
All hell breaks loose as the killer goes on a rampage, trying to cover his tracks. One after another, as people around start dying, it seems that one by one, the entire group of friends will be wiped out. No one has yet discovered the identity of the killer. The film thunders to an exciting climax, which endangers Mahi's life too! A shock ending reveals the identity of the killer and motive behind the killings.
This edge of the seat suspense flick, full of razor sharp thrills is directed by debutante Jignesh V Vaishnav with music composed by Daboo Malik (who also appears in a cameo in the film) and lyrics penned by Praveen Bharadwaj and Sanjay Chhel (the director of the Sanjay-Urmila starrer Khoobsurat).
The movie is slated to release on November 21, 2003.
