Dil Pardesi Ho Gayaa comes in as another movie based on India-Pakistan relations, though this one is more of a love story. With the 'Indo-Pak' theme and 'love story', the first thing that strikes your mind is Gadar. But Writer-producer-director Sawan Kumar Tak (Souten, Hawas & Saajan Bina Suhagan) makes it clear that he hasn't derived any inspiration from the blockbuster.

Dil Pardesi Ho Gayaa tackles the theme that 'love has no boundaries (borders)'. It's a love story of an Indian boy and a Pakistani girl played by newcomers Kapil Jhaveri and Saloni Aswani. An Indian army officer (Ashutosh Rana) is captured and taken to Pakistan. The officer's younger brother Sunny (Kapil Jhaveri), trapped by emotions crosses the border and lands in Pakistan to rescue his brother. There he encounters a Pakistani beauty Rukhsar (Saloni Aswani) trapped in fire attempting to save the life of a child. He saves them both and wins the girl's affection. Subsequently love blossoms between the two wherein Rukhsar finally asks Sunny to marry her. At this juncture, Sunny reveals his identity and motive, which shocks Rukhsar. But his mission concerns her father (Amrish Puri), a man of great principles and morals who is the brigadier in Pakistani army. The love of Rukhsar and principals of her brigadier father come face to face, which forms the highly charged climax of Dil Pardesi Ho Gayaa.

The supporting cast includes Prem Chopra in the role of a Pakistani religious extremist and Mukesh Rishi as a killer. The film has seven melodious songs composed by Saawan Kumar's favorite music director Usha Khanna (who returns after a long hiatus of time) while the director himself pens the lyrics. Cinematography by Harmeet Singh and hard-hitting dialogues by Shyam Gupta form the other highlights of the film.

The film is scheduled to release on 28th November.
