It was only recently that action director-turned-filmmaker Tinu Verma launched his new film BAAZ ­ A BIRD IN DANGER and he's already completed it. Departing from his forte ­ action ­ the director has tried a different genre this time ­ thriller ­ which seems to be the flavour of the season.

How did Tinu complete the film so early? "Before I started shooting, the music, the script, the screenplay, the execution ­ everything was done on paper. It was all ready. We just had to begin shooting," he says, "My team ­ and that includes both my film's stars and the production members ­ has contributed in a big way to not only successfully complete the shooting without any hitches, but also in time ­ in four months flat."

But what prompted him to make a thriller? "I was greatly inspired by the success of RAAZ. When a small film could do so well, I thought why not make a film belonging to the same genre, but by increasing the canvas. I think it's been a long time since the audience saw some good thrillers," he smiles.

The synopsis ­

Every human being has a split personality. The story of BAAZ ­ A BIRD IN DANGER revolves around one such person with a split personality.

He resides in the scenic hill station town of Nainital. Neha Chopra [Karisma Kapoor], an interior designer, is hired by Mayor Jai Singh Dabral [Jackie Shroff] to beautify his old bungalow. But she is least aware that the human 'baaz' is all set to make her a prey.

Who is this 'baaz'? Is it the Mayor Jai Singh Dabral or her neighbour Raj Singh [Dino Meora] or is it Harshvardhan [Sunil Shetty]? Nonetheless, all three are in love with the beautiful Neha, which means one wants to make her his prey and the other two want to save her from the clutches of the human 'baaz'?

Preeti Rastogi [Preeti Jhangiani], a well-wisher of Neha, gets to know the secret of the human 'baaz', but in doing such a daring act, loses her life. So does Neha fall prey to 'baaz'?
