Menaka (Kkhushi) has been engaged to get married to a boy of her father's (Vikram Gokhale) choice. Before her wedding, she goes on a holiday with friends to Simla where she falls in love with Rahul (Sarvar Ahuja). Rahul, too, loves her. However, their romance is nipped in the bud as Menaka is too scared to go against her autocratic father's wishes. When Rahul tries to make her see reason, she tearfully dismisses off their meeting as being of no consequence. She then scribbles her address on a Rs. 100 currency note and puts that in the mobile donation box of a temple, telling Rahul that if the two were destined to meet, he would find the currency note by a quirk of fate before her impending marriage and, with that, he would be able to locate her in Delhi where she lived.

Rahul, madly in love with her, sets out in search of her in the whole of Delhi, armed only with the information that her name is Menaka, that she lives in Delhi and that she is slated to get married soon. He is assisted in his impossible task by his friend, Adi However, when he does lay his hands on the currency note; his tale of woes is not over. Menaka, still too scared to go against her father's wishes, spurns Rahul's marriage offer. Even the pleas of Rahul's doting parents (Kiran Kumar and Rati Agnihotri) fall on the deaf ears of Menaka's father. It is then time for Menaka's submissive mother (Smita Jayakar) to revolt against her husband. The climax sees the father realizing his folly and yielding in to the demands of true love.
