Raj (Sudhanshu Pande) is in love with Nandini (Meera Vasudevan) but he can’t articulate his feelings. Fate also conspires against him when his bosom pal, Rahul (Rakesh Bapat), blissfully unaware of Raj’s feelings, woos Nandini and wins her hand.
After their marriage, Rahul gets posted to Raj’s hometown, Darjeeling. While hunting for suitable accommodation with Raj, Rahul spots a bungalow that he takes and instant liking to. But Nandini develop an instinctive dislike for the owner of the bungalow, Mrs. Jariwala (Supriya Karnik), and since she feels uncomfortable with the idea of living there, she pleads with Rahul to return to Bombay. Rahul refuses and, from this point, their marriage starts to show cracks. Nandini begins to drift away from Rahul and gets closer to Raj who is perplexed and dismayed by these developments.
Rahul begins to suspect Raj, and his platonic relationship with Nandini is mistaken for unrequited love. In the climax, it is revealed that all this has been orchestrated by Mrs. Jariwala’s powers of black magic and her passion to possess Rahul. Matters are eventually sorted. Mrs. Jariwala also unites with her hitherto wayward and alcoholic husband, Vilas (Parikshat Sahni), who is rendered a paralytic by his wife’s magic mantras. The film ends with Rahul and Nandini’s departure to Bombay but with the promise of returning with their family to attend Raj’s marriage with Rohini.
