Remember last time when veteran director Harmesh
Malhotra, Govinda and Anand Milind came together--they
delivered a laugh riot called Dulhe Raja whose music
was as successful as the movie itself. The same team
is back with Khullam Khulla Pyaar Karen (KKPK) and
from the looks of the promos, KKPK seems to be another
fun movie. Preity Zinta plays the lead opposite
Govinda in this Tutu Sharma production.
In the entire album, emphasis has been solely on beats
than the content. In one way, it's a well planned move
as all the songs have a similar feel and cater to one
definite segment of audience - the hard core Govinda
fans. Well, if 'Dulhe Raja' had 'Ankhiyon Se Goli
Maare' by Sonu Nigam and Jaspinder Narula, then KKPK
has 'Maare Nazar Se Katari' by the same singers.
Jolly Mukherjee of 'Chandni - O Meri Chandni' fame is
heard again in the title song. Sunidhi Chauhan makes a
mandatory appearance. And hold your breath!!!! It's a
blatant copy of none other than - guess what? -
'Bailamos'. Now someone really needed guts to achieve
this and the team of KKPK have proved that they have
it in them!!!! The way the song has been copied is to
be heard to be believed as it sounds more of funny
than romantic with the way the hindi lyrics have been
incorporated in the 'Bailamos' tune. And if this was
not enough, then there is even a remix of the same
number. In the beginning of the song, sound of the
guitar strings is same as Vikas Bhalla's hit 'Hai
Dhuan Hai Dhuan' from his debut pop album Awara.
A number that may become popular is 'Tere Ishq Mein
Pad Gayee Re'. Preity Zinta matches step by step with
Govinda (and his 'designer dresses') in this one and
the song is fun to watch. Sonu Nigam and Jaspinder
Narula lend their vocals in this one.
Another song by Sonu Nigam and Alka Yagnik goes as
"Bachalo Bachalo Bachalo Bachalo
Mohabbat Ka Kaanta Chubha Hai Bachalo".
Need we give any more explanation !!! The song is of
the kind that Md. Aziz and company used to sing in the
mid 80's.
'Bagalwali Aankh Maare' is a ched-chaad number by
Udit Narayan and Jaspinder Narula and doesn't impress
at all. Lyrics by Sameer too are nothing to write home
about.
Front benchers will whole heartedly grab 'Challa
Challa' and 'Yeh Ladki Nahi Ye Banaras Ka Paan Hai'.
'Challa Challa' by Sudesh Bhonsle is (again) typical
Govinda stuff. It is all about our Hero No.1 pursuing
the heroine to accept his proposal.
Chote Miyan challenges Bade Miyan again. How? Well,
if Big B could croon 'Khaike Paan Banaras Waala' in
DON, then can't our very own 'Virar Ka Chora' compare
his girl to 'Banaras Ka Paan' itself. Believe it or
not, but the this actually happens here. And why not?
In Govinda's territory nothing is impossible - kuch
bhi ho sakta hai !!! But to be fair to the musical
score, this is one number that will bring the house
down when viewed on big screen. Govinda's expressions
are in full form here and the dance steps are
enjoyable too!!!
What KKPK lacks in is - variety !!! Trouble is that
all the songs sound exactly the same. Also there isn't
a single number that you may boast of in front of your
grand children 25 years from now !!!
KKPK has absolutely nothing for classes and for the
masses too it may prove to be just an average affair.
KKPK could well have been titled "Tapori Hits of
2001".
