Now this one is a kind of project that suits the personality of Sunny Deol to the T. Or is it the other way round with Sunny paaji's screen presence initiating a project? Either ways, Jo Bole So Nihaal , the latest venture by Rahul Rawail, who has delivered some of the biggest hits with Sunny Deol, is all set to hit the screens this summer. All set to rock the streets of New York , JBSN also marks the debut of pop singer Kamaal Khan (of ' O Oh Jaane Jaana ' fame) as the main baddie and the comeback of 'Style' heroine Shilpi Mudgal who just went invisible after her debut outing. A N.R. Pachisia production, JBSN stars Sunny Deol as a comic action 'Sardaar' who happens to be a 'Hawaldar' sent on a mission to the US of A. The promos have created an immense craze around the movie and the slogan of 'No If...No But...Sirf Jatt!' is being already heard all over Punjab ! With the 'punjabi jodi' of Anand Raj Anand and Dev Kohli coming together to handle the music department, JBSN promises a strong North Indian flavor musical score.
In total there are 4 numbers in the album that begins with the title song ' Jo Bole So Nihal '. Be assured that there would be cheers of 'Sat Sri Akaal' in the theatres of Delhi and Punjab every time Sunny utters ' Jo Bole So Nihaal '. A pulsating number, it is elevated to greater heights by Sukhwinder Singh's energetic vocals. With reference points to Nanak Guru, Baisakhi and Punjab in general, this foot tapping number picturized on the streets of New York is the first of its kinds and should be quite appealing to the NRI audience. This is a kind of track that is best enjoyed in a theatre with a full house audience! Go for it and cheer along! And if you are interested in Karoake then there is also an instrumental ' Dhol Mix ' for you. Punjab 's own Jaspinder Narula comes up with the lighter, sober and a shorter version of 'Jo Bole So Nihaal' and establishes the devotion theme of the number. This one seems to be for a scene in the movie when 'maa/bhabhi' of Sunny Deol are praying to the almighty!
An item number ' Raat Kuchh Aur Thi ' is sung in a strong bass by Sunidhi Chauhan. The ' Remix ' version makes an appearance earlier than the original and doesn't really make you jump with joy. There is a rap'n'reggae happening in parallel to Sunidhi's vocals and manages to give some zing to the number. The number won't really make an appearance in the countdowns but the only reasons why it would still keep the moviegoer's interest alive are the hot bods and some colorful cinematography.
' Rab Jaane ' by Sukhwinder Singh, Kamaal Khan and Alka Yagnik is a situational track that seems to be a party song choreographed on the hero, heroine and the villain. Heavy on beats and extremely situational in content, it is a pass and go affair for an audio listener. It is a kind of number that can be enjoyed more only after one has seen the song in the context of the movie. But in a reverse mode, expecting a music lover to get excited about the movie after hearing the song doesn't sound promising! Even when the song repeats , this time just with Kamaal Khan and Alka Yagnik, the results are still just the same!
' Main Yaar Punjabi Jatt ' cashes on the Deol image on the silver screen. A pacy track sung by Udit Narayan and Sunidhi Chauhan, it is based on a continued rhythm with beats supporting the tune throughout. First real regular song between hero and the heroine, even this one is given a comic angle. Again, this number is of the kinds that is heard and forgotten.
To sum up the musical score of JBSN, it has the title song on one side and rest of the songs on the other. The album is of the kinds that are heard only till the time the movie has hit the screens. This one is strictly for the Delhi-Punjab audience and Punjabi NRIs.
